What Happened at the First Author X Brand Camp
I planned it for months and still felt the nerves walking in.
Then everyone sat down, and the space came alive.
We pointed the whole camp at one thing.
Getting clear.
Clear on your message, on your audience, on how to become the messenger who says it out loud.
So we did the work. We built one liners that change how people see you.
We mapped how to leverage your book to market you, instead of the other way around.
We learned how to show up online as the expert you already are, and how to quiet the noise in your head about what to post.
That noise is what keeps most authors silent.
Everyone walked out with a simple plan to move the needle.
On the final day we ran the optional Author X talks.
Almost everyone took the stage anyway. Watching each author stand and speak about their own work is something I will not forget.
We recorded a podcast with every single person inside the RAE VAN. We brought in a photographer for fresh headshots, so everyone had updated assets right as they get ready to show up online more.
My friend Alex Pryce directed and filmed all three days, and having him there made everything better.
No one left empty handed. Everyone got a bonus set of coaching calls we will use in the weeks ahead to put the work into motion.
But the part I will carry with me was not the curriculum.
It was the room.
Strangers became a team in three days. People cheered for each other's wins like they were their own.
I am grateful for Emily Gindlesparger, Sara Capra, Andrew Tracy Ceperley, PCC, Linda Rittenhouse, Joshua L Mindel, PhD, ACC, Amber Stazenski, and my wife Hannah Al-Baiaty for making it so special.
If you want to know about the next Author X event, message me and I will share more.
