Life’s Best Turns Start with People
I sat there in October 2019, sweating through my shirt, surrounded by gold medalists, Hollywood stuntwomen, doctors, engineers, finance sharks, and entrepreneurs with stories that could make you laugh, cry, and rethink your entire life.
I was sure I’d walked into the wrong room.
Tucker Max was at the helm, preaching the gospel of writing and publishing. But it was Emily Gindlesparger who cracked me open.
Emily helped me see my story with new eyes.
Helped me see me.
Through that first intense year of writing, she led our online workshops with this calm, fierce wisdom that kept my pen moving and my ego quiet.
Before my book was even published, she invited me to help build the very program that built me.
And over the next few years, I learned more about writing, editing, and the soul of publishing from Emily and Chas Hoppe than any classroom could teach.
I moved states to build a home for my family, only to end up a few blocks away from Emily.
Funny how the universe works.
Wild how the people we meet sometimes, change the trajectory of our lives.
Cheers to mentors who become friends, and to friendships that only keep growing.
