LinkedIn Isn’t About You, It’s About Who You’re Helping
LinkedIn only feels scary because you think it’s about you.
Most authors struggle to write on LinkedIn.
Not because they can’t write, but because of how they perceive their work.
They wonder:
Is this worth sharing?
Will people care?
Am I even qualified to say this?
And truth is… You're, but you're worried about whether the post will land more than just sharing and watching where it lands.
The only way to know is to stop lurking and start working... on the platform.
Not knowing is the whole point. Keeps curiosity hanging over your head.
If you never try, you’ll never know.
If you do try, congrats, you’ve just started an experiment.
The catch is to see results, you’ve got to keep running the experiment.
Keep showing up.
Keep sharing.
Results reveal themselves through mere action.
Too many authors want their posts to be mic-drop moments. Another milestone, certificate, or highlight reel.
But the best posts?
They’re just people being people.
A story about a tough moment.
A lesson that cracked your worldview.
A book that helped you out of a rut.
A shoutout to someone who inspired you.
LinkedIn only feels scary because you think it’s about you.
It’s not.
It’s about who you’re serving, who you’re helping.
And by being as real as you can muster, you’ll naturally pull in people who care, and who’ll stick around to follow your journey.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk about how I like to show up on LinkedIn 😂
