Visibility Without Direction Won’t Sell Your Book, Do This Instead

Every author wants more visibility.

But visibility without direction is like throwing confetti off a cliff.

Pretty, but pointless.

Flip your focus on these four actions today:

1. Build Your “Author Power Pack”
Before you pitch podcasts, run ads, or blast social media, answer this:

Who exactly do you want reading your book?

Where do those people already spend their time?

What do you want them to do after reading it?

If you can’t answer those three questions, stop promoting until you can.

2. Create One “Author Anchor” Offer

Your book isn’t the end goal, it’s the front door.

What’s waiting inside?

A coaching program

A workshop

A newsletter community

Speaking opportunities

Authors who thrive are the ones who make their book the beginning of something bigger.

3. Do One "Share-Worthy" Thing

Stop trying to scream louder on social media. Instead, give people a reason to talk about you:

Host a free Q&A for readers

Create a bold challenge tied to your book’s message

Partner with a nonprofit that aligns with your work

Make your story worth sharing. Newsworthy books sell themselves.

4. Commit to Volume, Not Virality

Post once a week and you’ll disappear. Post three to five times a week, and you start becoming unforgettable. Consistency wins.

I know I just shared a lot to think through and actually take action on.

If you are going into Q4 and are unsure of how to grow your author platform, please feel free to message me. I would love to help.
