Marketing Isn’t Validation, It’s Visibility
When I started sharing my book, I made that mistake.
I was chasing attention, not alignment.
And when the likes didn’t match the effort, I questioned everything.
Then I realized something simple.
Most authors confuse marketing with validation.
I know I did.
They think posting about their book means people will love it.
They think going viral will finally prove they belong.
They think if the numbers go up, so will their worth.
But marketing isn’t about being liked.
It’s about being found.
The moment you tie your self-worth to engagement, you lose your edge.
Because now you’re not creating to connect, you’re performing to please.
Marketing is about clarity.
Validation is about ego.
You market your work to help people see themselves in it.
You validate yourself by doing the work, whether they clap or not.
If you want longevity, separate the two.
Keep sharing. Keep building. Keep learning what resonates.
Because your message matters more than your metrics.
And when you start moving from purpose, not praise, people feel it.
I know, weird right...
