Creating With People Who Get You

“Bro, can you just toss your cameras in my vanagon and record the first episode?”

That was early 2021. Before Rising Authors. Before we knew what we were doing.

“Alex, let’s go around town and share stories of resilience before my book launches I think it will be fun!”

It was on that fast!

I started the podcast to build attention around my upcoming book launch back in 2021.

So we did exactly that. Alex jumped in, filmed, edited with what we had. We launched about 12 episodes before I moved to Arizona and started working at a publishing company.

The podcast took a backseat. But I always knew it would come back.

For Author X Brand Camp, I wanted Alex to come down and help me direct and produce the whole event.

Recording the new series of episodes it only felt right to bring him into the fold!

We’ve been meeting up weekly, discussing ideas, and every week I get more excited about what we’re building.

Did I mention we’ve known each other since we were 15.

We’ve been talking about creativity, art, and film since we were kids. There’s nothing better than working with a friend who gets it. Laughing about life while doing the work.
