You’re Not Posting Too Much — You’re Hardly Being Seen

Authors tell me they don’t want to post too much because they don’t want to annoy people.

You’re hiding behind perfection.

LinkedIn’s algorithm isn’t that generous, and if someone is annoyed, they can unfollow.

They’re not your audience.

You will never be perfect at this social media thing and you don't need to be.

Not your post, not your video, not your carousel, not your comments.

If you’re obsessed with looking the part, you’ll never embody your message.

And people trust embodiment, not polish.

It takes an average of seven meaningful interactions before someone trusts you enough to buy, share, or care.

Seven.

That only happens when you’re consistently visible.

PR is fantastic, but I know people who have had amazing PR and are still invisible.

They don’t know how to keep growing their impact or how to leverage those brief flashes of spotlight.

That’s why building a brand and becoming known for something isn’t an overnight thing.

No one can deliver instant, massive results.

Selling a book is one of the hardest things to do in the world.

You’re asking someone to spend their money, then two, three, maybe four hours of their life reading it, then to leave a review, and maybe even post a photo with it.

That’s a lot.

Most people will read a book or two, maybe apply one idea, and move on unless it completely blows them away.

You are the brand.

When people see you embody your message by sharing your ideas, your stories, and your expertise, they start to connect the dots.

They see how your work applies to their world, their struggles, and their goals.

And that’s what finally gets them to buy your book, follow your journey, and trust your voice.

Show up as you are, meet people where they are. It's a win-win strategy.
