Why Big Podcasts Don't Care If You Wrote a Book

Most authors believe writing the book is what gets them on big podcasts.

Spotify spent hundreds of millions testing a version of that belief.

They bet that fame equals audience.

Kim Kardashian got a show. Harry and Meghan got a reported 25 million dollars.

The Obamas signed on.

Nearly all of it died.

Meanwhile, the top performing episodes of Diary of a CEO, the biggest podcast brand on earth, are not the celebrities.

They are unknown experts.

People you have never heard of, outdrawing movie stars.

So if fame is not the ticket, and the book is not the ticket, what is?

Fame and having a book for sure help, let's not get it twisted here.

The real question is what do these big producers of these podcasts actually look for?

All that and a bit more on this edition of the Rising Authorpreneur.
