The Real Ones Build When It’s Quiet

Every summer, I notice the same thing.

It always happens to authors.

The slow down.

Responses take longer.

Clients vanish into vacation mode.

I learned a long time ago, summer is when the real ones separate.

Back when I was deep in the brand world, I watched the Jordan team at Nike use summer like a slingshot.

While other brands were scrambling to prep for back-to-school, they were already wrapping Q1 of the next year.

They moved early, they moved fast, and that stuck with me.

As I worked with them to finalize design and campaigns I learned the power of deep work in the summer.

So I started using summer as my season to sharpen.

June is when Rising-Authors was born.

In fact, I was in Fiji, literally on the beach, writing copy for the new website.

A vacation planned while I still had a job turned into a boot camp to launch my business.

I didn’t plan that, but after being laid off, I knew how to dial in for the summer.

I use summer for a variety of reasons. Fewer distractions mean more focused time.

I go in and tighten my brand.

Make my strategies better.

Refocus the business.

And prep for what’s next while everyone else is cooling off.

I spent Q1 finalizing what I’m launching tomorrow.

And spending the summer launching and testing.

Behind the scenes, I’ve been building something for the authors, coaches, and experts who don’t just want to survive the summer… they want to leverage it.

Tomorrow’s newsletter breaks it all down.

You’ll want this one in your inbox.

Excited to share, stay tuned ✊🏾🌹
